The Americans eventually had enough of the excessive tax by the British and unfair treatment and they rebelled. Two popular American revolts that occurred as a result were the Boston Massacre and the Boston Tea Party. The Boston Massacre was a street fight between the colonists and the British soldiers stationed in Boston. On March 5 1770 the colonists began throwing rocks and snowballs at the soldiers creating uproar. Feeling threatened, the soldiers fired back at their colonists with their weapons at hand. As a result there were 3 colonists killed and nearly 8 injured. The Boston Tea party in 1773 was another revolt against the British. Late one night, colonists stormed the boats on the dock taking them over by force. They dumped all the baskets of tea into the Boston harbor showing they were through with the tax imposed on tea and other goods.
